911: USE ONLY FOR LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCIES
- Use 911 in case of fire, serious car accident, medical emergency or accident, or if you see a crime being committed
- One call can reach the fire department, rescue service with ambulance, and the police
- Stay calm; speak slowly and clearly
- Provide precise information on the type of emergency and location of the crisis or victim to the 911 dispatcher who takes your call
- Know your own address and phone number so you can give them to the operator
- DO NOT HANG UP the phone until the 911 dispatcher says to do so!
USE THE POLICE AND FIRE NON-EMERGENCY NUMBERS TO:
- Report a crime that is not active
- Report a traffic incident without injuries
- Make noise complaints
- Request animal control services
- Request non-emergency ambulance transfers
- Report lost or stolen property or pets
